Controls Intrinsically safe, Fail-safe Relay Module - The BW 5510 is specifically designed to provide an intrinsically safe and economical means of detecting and controlling a wide variety of processing variables in explosive environments. The sensing circuit is designed to prevent releasing sufficient energy to ignite most flammable gases or liquids. The B/W Series 5510 uses two electro-mechanical output relays, one being energized when the supply power is connected to the B/W 5510 and the other is energized when the sensing circuit is completed. This allows load circuits to open or close on power loss to the 5510 module as needed. A short time delay is used to eliminate nuisance tripping due to liquid wave action or other quickly cycling inputs. Suitable for use in refineries, grain elevators and sewage treatment facilities - to mention just a few of the many areas for safe, practical installation. The unit is UL listed for Class I, II and III; Division 1; Groups A, B, C, D, E, F & G hazardous areas.
